Day 1: Pick up – Transfer to Nyungwe National park
You will be picked up either at Kigali international airport or at the Hotel by our safari guide/driver and hit the road to Nyungwe forest national park passing through beautiful scenery and rolling hills. The park is a home to over 13 species of primates the most tracked is the chimpanzee. Arrive at the lodge in time, check into your pre-booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight at. Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking
Morning breakfast is followed by a transfer to the park headquarters at 8: 00 am to receive short briefings about chimpanzee tracking. After follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the search of our close relatives who shares almost 98% of human genes. Chimps are magnificent fan to watch especially when they jump from tree to tree. The time spent searching for our relatives is unpredictable however, it can go from 1-6 hours while searching for them as meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from, a reasonable degree of fitness is highly needed, ounce they are met you will forget all the difficulties you’ve passed through and you use the one hour you are allowed to stay with them. Other species of primates can be seen in the process of tracking chimps like the owl-faced monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, more than 300 Colobus monkeys, mona monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys the list is endless. After the activity, in the evening, you can go for an optional nature walk/Canopy walk for more chance to view various species of primates and birds. Day3: Transfer to Kibale forest national-Uganda side
After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, you will leave Nyungwe to Rwanda -Uganda boarder and finally to kibale forest national park. You will pass through the winding road and terraced landscape with rolling hills up to Uganda boarder, our guide will help you to finalize with the border crossing requirements and finally to Uganda (your clock will go forward for one hour). Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and guided forest walk
After breakfast, proceed to the moist tropical rainforest for chimpanzee tracking one of the most tourist activities at the park. Kibale is known for housing the largest number of primate over 13 species live in this park only. Tracking time is unpredictable however it can go from 1-6 hours in the jungle searching for them since meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from. The search for chimpanzee may reward you with other primate species like the grey mangabeys, the black and white colobus monkey, baboons, pottos, bush babies among others. After the activity go back to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a walk to the Bigodi wetland characterized with unique flora and fauna in this area. dinner and an overnight at Ruwenzori View Guest House, Kyaninga Lode, primate lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge, chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day 5: Drive back to Rwanda – Departure
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive back to Kigali, have lunch en-route in Kigali and later proceed to the airport for your departure flight back home if scheduled on this day
