Day 1: Airport pick-Kampala
Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met and greeted by your safari guide/driver who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for your overnight. However if your flight arrives in the morning, you will have an opportunity to visit some of the interesting places around Kampala. These include the Kasubi Toms the burial site for 4 kings of Buganda, visit the Uganda Museum for more information about the people and history of Uganda, visit also the African Craft Market, Namirembe Cathedral and any other interesting place within the city. Dinner and an overnight at Cassia Lodge or its equivalent.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
After breakfast, our safari guide/ driver will pick you from the hotel for a drive to the southern part of Uganda to fort portal town, one of the best heritage cities in Uganda. Your journey will take you through sceneries of lush homesteads, tea plantation and farms of the beautiful rural country side of Uganda. Have lunch enroute before you arrive at the park. The evening is reserved for leisure dinner and an overnight at Ruwenzori View Guest House, Kyaninga Lode, primate lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge, chimpanzee Forest Guest House
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and guided forest walk
After breakfast, proceed to the moist tropical rainforest for chimpanzee tracking one of the most tourist activities at the park. kibale national park is known for housing the largest number of primates over 13 species live in this park only. Tracking time is unpredictable however it can from 1-6 hours in the jungle searching for them since meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from. The search for chimpanzee may reward you with other primate species like the grey mangabeys, the black and white colobus monkey, baboons, pottos, bush babies among others. After the activity go back to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a walk to the Bigodi wetland characterized with unique flora and fauna in this area. dinner and an overnight at Ruwenzori View Guest House, Kyaninga Lode, primate lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge, chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After a hearty breakfast, we shall embark on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park Uganda’s biodiversity park. We will arrive at the park in the afternoon; we shall catch the boat ride on the Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward. The launch cruise is rewarding with many species of wildlife including schools of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and plenty of birds that characterize the shores of Lake George and Edward. In the evening go for game drive in the Kasenyi area of the park for more opportunity to catch a variety of games that rush to their hideouts, after take a slow drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, Jacana Safari Lodge, Kyambura Game Lodge, Ihamba Lake Side Safari Lodge, Simba Lodge.
Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking in kyambura gorge
This morning after a cup of tea or coffee you will go for an early morning game drive through the park games expected to see include elephant, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, lion water buck among many others. After, take a slow drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch go to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking. These close relative of man will be searched for within the confines of a forested river gorge carved into the surrounding flat savannah. Chimps are fabulous fan to watch when jumping from one tree to another, take photos as well as learning their behaviors for a period of an hour. After chimp tracking come back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, Jacana Safari Lodge, Kyambura Game Lodge, Ihamba Lake Side Safari Lodge, and Simba Lodge.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Gorilla Park.
This morning after breakfast drive, you will drive through the ishasha sector of the park, if you are lucky, you will spot the tree climbing lions sited on the fig tree or tree branches, you will be fortunate to see other species of game like the Uganda kobs, elephants, topi, buffaloes and many . You will arrive in the afternoon and go for a walk in the neighboring communities and also get entertainment from the local performances, do shopping of crafts. Retire back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Buhoma Lodge, Chameleon Hill Lodge, and Lake Mutanda Lodge, Gorilla safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge, Ruhija Gorilla Friend Camp, and Wagtail
Day7: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi national impenetrable national park.
Early morning cup of tea/coffee, followed with a transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla tracking information from the park warden. After follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the gorilla tracking activity one of the most done tourist activity at the park. The thrill of spending time with and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other. Only one hour is allowed to stay with these animals, however searching them is unpredictable it can go from a half to full day in the jungle searching them, however you will be entertained by many other forest dwellers like the rare golden monkey, chimps, buffaloes bird species and many more. Day 8: Transfer to Rwanda (Rwanda is GMT +2)
Take breakfast before making a scenic journey to Rwanda the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape, your journey will take you through the winding road and terraced landscape and arrive in Kisoro for lunch and then drive to Uganda/Rwanda border and cross to Rwanda (the crock will go backward for one hour). Dinner and an overnight at Kinigi guest house, gorilla’s hotel, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Le Bombou Lodge
Day 9: Mountain gorilla tracking and departure
This day is reserved for a second gorilla tracking in the tropical rainforest of volcanoes national park, however the drive will first take you to the park headquarters before 7:30 am to receive gorilla tracking information from the park wardens. After, get deep into the forest following the ranger guide walking up steep densely forested hills before finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. An inspiring moment which can go from a half to full day in the jungle searching for our relatives who shares almost 97% of human genes. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes since tracking may involve passing through muddy and sometimes steep mountains. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the dominant male the silverback, it’s a moment in life very difficult to forget. Day 10: Return journey
After breakfast you will be driven back to Kigali, and if you missed the first Kigali city tour, go for a city tour and visit important sites like the Kigali city tour memorial site, among many others, have lunch en route and then after you will be transferred to the airport to meet your departure flight back home.
