Rwanda is one of the few countries gifted with a wide variety of incredible creatures; however the most common amongst all is the endangered mountain gorillas. Rwanda is one of the few countries in the world to host this endangered animals and they have attracted a huge number of people to this small African country to come and spend at least 1-2 days in their natural habitat. These apes live in the volcanoes national park in the north western part of Rwanda about 2 hours’ drive from Kigali the capital of Rwanda. Other species of primates that inhabit the country include chimpanzee, golden monkey, baboons, civet monkey, grey checked mangbay, the list is endless. Mammal species include buffalo, elephant, lion, hippo, various species of antelopes among many others; mammal species are only spotted in Akagera national park in the eastern part of Rwanda.
