Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes national park
On your arrival at the airport our company tour guide/driver will welcome and greet you, and then after he will brief you about the safari. After, depending on the time available, you will first enjoy the Kigali city tour before you proceed to volcanoes national park. Places to visit include the genocide memorial site in Gisozi, visit cultural sites, national museum, and market places among very many interesting around the city. After lunch within the city you will then embark on a transfer to volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri Musanze district in the northwestern part of Rwanda with a scenic view through out. Check into your booked accommodation for relaxation as you wait for dinner and an overnight at Sabyinya Silverback Lodge, Gorilla Nest Lodge, Le Bombou Lodge, Kinigi Guest House.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in volcanoes national park
Early morning breakfast before you set off to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also gets you assigned to the gorilla group to trek. After the briefing you will follow the ranger guide deep to the rain tropical forest to begin the activity possibly the most done activity at the park. Trekking the gorillas in this light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a supernatural experience no one would love to miss. The walks might be arduous so some physical fitness is needed an encounter of a family of gorillas is rewarding spend an hour with them and be back at the base in time for late lunch. Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day especially when it’s wet and muddy. After the activity retire back to the lodge for lunch. Day 3: Hiking the Karisimbi mountain volcano
This day after a hearty breakfast at the lodge, our safari guide will take you to the base camp of the volcano on Karisimbi Mountain to receive short briefing about the all activity, and then after, he will lead you to the starting point to begin the 2-day hike. The guide will lead the hike accompanied by the porters who will carry your luggage and they will also help to prepare your food on the mountain. On the first day, the hike will take some 6 hours; the first overnight will be at a camp at elevation 3,700 meters. Dinner and an Overnight at the mountain camp.
Day 4: Continue to Karisimbi peak:
Wake up early for breakfast in the camp, and then after you will continue to the top of Karismbi Mountain with fantastic views including scenery and vegetation throughout. The hike to reach the summit takes about 4 hours. Later you will descend the mountain to the base camp our safari guides and later they will transfer you back to Kigali with lunch en-route, you can enjoy a small city and latter dinner and an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel, Chez Lando/ Des Mille Collins
Day 5: Transfer to Akagera national park
A hearty breakfast is followed with a transfer to Akagera national, a protected park for a wide biodiversity of wildlife. Arrive in time at your pre-booked accommodation at the park for lunch. Dinner and an overnight at Akagera game lodge, Luzizi Tented Lodge /Umbrella Pine/Dereva Hotel
Day 6: Game drive and launch cruise
You will walk up very early for a cup of tea or coffee, and then after the guide will drive you to eastern side of the park to catch up with the big games that ride at the park. Games expected to see include elephant, buffaloes, lions and leopard can also be spotted, others include warthogs, giant forest hog, waterbuck, gazelle, spotted hyena, Burchall’s zebra and giraffe among other. After retire back to the lodge for lunch, after embark on a 2-3 boat cruise on the lake Ihema, for more opportunity to see more species of wildlife that live and feed on the lake including schools of hippo and crocodiles, while buffaloes and elephants can be spotted along the shore . Bird watching at the lake is fantastic; lucky visitors can came across the rare shoe bill. Dinner and an overnight at Akagera game lodge, Luzizi Camp/Umbrella Pine/Dereva Hotel
Day 7: Departure
Have breakfast and then after, you will be transferred back to the airport to meet your departure flight back home
