Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer

Upon your Arrival at the Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by our safari guide who will brief you about the safari and then after transfer you to your accommodation within Kigali. Dinner and an overnight at Kigali Serena hotel/ Chez Lando/Des Mille Collines

Day 2: City tour and transfer to Ruhengeri (volcanoes national park)

kigali genocide memorialAfter breakfast at the lodge you will be driven to Kigali for a city tour and visit important site like the Kigali genocide memorial site in Gisozi, visit the national museum, visit cultural sites and market places,. After lunch, you will set off to the north western corner of the Rwanda and finally to volcanoes national park a home to endangered mountain gorillas. The drive will take about 2-3 hours with a scenic throughout; arrive in the evening for leisure at the lodge.  Dinner and an overnight at Sabyinya Silverback Lodge, Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Le Bombou Lodge/ Kinigi Guest House.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking in volcanoes national park

rwanda gorilla trekkingEarly morning breakfast before you set off to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also gets you assigned to the gorilla group to trek. After the briefing you will follow the ranger guide deep to the rain tropical forest to begin the activity possibly the most done activity at the park. Trekking the gorillas in this light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a supernatural experience no one would love to miss. The walks might be arduous so some physical fitness is needed an encounter of a family of gorillas is rewarding spend an hour with them and be back at the base in time for late lunch. Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day especially when it’s wet and muddy.after the activity retire back to the lodge for lunch. Day 4: Diane Fossy grave Visit

dainy fossey hikeYou will wake up this morning for a heavy breakfast and then after you will embark on a transfer for a hike to a grave yard of Diane Fossy in Karisimbi research center where she conducted most of her research. Diane Fossy was a prominent primatologist and a researcher who carried out research on the behaviors of these endangered gorillas over a period of 18 years, without her gorillas would be no more; however her efforts made a point attraction in Rwanda. She was later killed in by the said researchers whom she had made herself very unpopular. The hike to the Dian Fossy is somehow tough as it involves passing through the forest and slopes, so some physical fitness is needed. At the site you are equipped with very much informative information about her works. The Diane Fossey hike can go to up to full day. Dinner and an overnight at Sabyinya Silverback Lodge, Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Le Bombou Lodge/ Kinigi Guest House

Day 5: Return journey back home

After a hearty breakfast, you will be driven back to Kigali and if you missed the first Kigali city tour, you go for a city tour and later proceed to Kigali international airport to meet your departure flight back home
